1.01 Marvin Harrison Jr WR, K9 Unit (via Sacko)
Thanks to the league’s first two time Sacko, Woodsy, K9 Unit is coming home with the crowned jewel of this draft. MHJ is as near to a perfect prospect as they come making this an easy choice, K9 Unit has had their card filled out since mid-September. Lock it in.
1.02 Malik Nabers WR, Team Team
Even after selling EVERYONE, Team Team still could not stoop to the levels of Sacko to secure the 1st overall pick as they hoped to. However, having your choice of Nabers or Odunze is not a bad problem to have. Both are great prospects but going off of the minimal intel we’ve received and pure gut instinct, Team Team opts for the next great receiver out of LSU.
1.03 Rome Odunze WR, NRTHN ZAY
Much like Team Team, NRTHN ZAY may be upset on losing out on the MHJ sweepstakes but they will still be walking out of the draft with a bona fide stud at receiver. Expect them to take whichever of Nabers and Odunze fall, in this case it’s Odunze.
1.04 Brock Bowers TE, Shane’s Lobos (via Team Tsmigs, projected trade)
PROJECTED TRADE:
Team Tsmigs receives 1.07 & Jerry Jeudy
Shane’s Lobos receive 1.04
In today’s first and only projected trade we see Shane’s Lobos move up 3 spots to secure the their tight end of the future. This has been a position they’ve been searching for an answer at for quite some time and Tsmigs is known to trade back. While David Njoku enjoyed a career year last season, a move like this from the Lobos would not surprise me.
1.05 Brian Thomas Jr WR, NRTHN ZAY (via King of the Hill)
Despite more pressing needs, specifically at the running back position, NRTHN ZAY goes receiver again here with another LSU wide out. This may seem a little early but if we see Thomas tied to an elite offense and QB it wouldn’t shock me to see NRTHN ZAY shoot for the high ceiling given their plethora of first round picks this year.
1.06 Troy Franklin WR, Team Team (via K9 Unit)
Franklin is someone similar to Thomas that could see their value either skyrocket or crumble depending on their landing spot but he projects as one of the top players left on the board here regardless. Team Team might be tempted to start the running back run here but they have too many holes to reach.
1.07 Blake Corum RB, Team Tsmigs (via Shane’s Lobos, projected trade)
Projected Trade:
Team Tsmigs receives 1.07 & Jerry Jeudy
Shane’s Lobos receive 1.04
After moving back a few spots and taking a flier on Jerry Jeudy to add some depth to their receiver room, Tsmigs takes the first running back of what is generally perceived as a relatively weak class at the position. We know many in the teams organization are favorable of the Wolverines so they’re ecstatic with the pick despite any reach allegations that may ensue.
1.08 Keon Coleman WR, Saquon City Sun Gods
Back-to-back homer picks here as the Sun Gods owner/GM Logan Pinger recently graduated from Michigan State University. Coleman is coming out of Florida State however he got his career started at MSU as a two sport athlete where he became the first player since 1992 to score a touchdown and a basket for a top-10 team. Easy pick here.
1.09 Jonathon Brooks RB, NRTHN ZAY (via Team Tsmigs)
NRTHN ZAY finally picks up their newest back after staying patient with their first two picks in the round. Brooks was a productive player before tearing his ACL in November of this past season but this shouldn’t scare off a team that just last year drafted a running back that had literally no ACL in Tyjae Spears.
1.10 Adonai Mitchell WR, Intercourse
Without any immediate needs on the roster, the reigning champs opt to shoot for the stars taking Mitchell out of Texas. Standing at 6’4, Mitchell has prototypical size and athleticism that jumps off the screen.
1.11 Caleb Williams QB, Boutte Cheeks
After finally coming to terms with the fact that they missed out on Tua in the expansion draft, Boutte Cheeks practically runs to the podium to turn this pick in. Kirko Chainz and Baker Mayfield don’t fit the current direction of this team so you can expect a QB pick at some point and in the scenario that Williams falls to this pick, I can’t see them passing up on that.
1.12 Ladd McConkey WR, Team JarrettBones48
Word on the street is owner/GM Barrett Jones is looking to put together a gritty squad that might take out a few kneecaps along the way and many would say McConkey fits that bill. Sneaky athletic and a premier route runner, McConkey could quickly become a PPR monster out of the slot.
